RSB Rig Pro had an early start yesterday morning to allow them to restep the 63 meter, 12000kg mast onboard the 52 meter sloop Konkordia before the sea breeze filled in across the bay of Palma.

The cranes were set up by 0800 and the mast was secured in the boat by mid morning allowing ample time for the 23 meter boom to be fitted and the mast to be made safe for the weekend. The unstepping procedure has been featured in the Super Sail World magazine in a 6 page article on RSB in Palma and gives an in depth insight into what it takes to prepare and carry out an operation of this size. Konkordia will now undergo sea trials in Palma before heading to the eastern Mediterranean for the remainder of the summer season.
